ZEV
Z Electric Vehicle (ZEV) is an American electric motorcycle and scooter manufacturer founded in 2006 by Darus H. Zehrbach, Jr., a mechanical engineer who saw the potential for electric vehicles while traveling the world for work. Zehrbach started ZEV as a garage project in his home in Morgantown, West Virginia, together with a group of aerospace, mechanical engineers and business people with the aim to outdesign and outperform competitors in the alternative fuel vehicle market.
In 2009, operations moved to an airport hangar in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania before relocating back to Morgantown in 2013 where the company is currently headquartered.
The company takes pride in its engineering expertise, with senior management having over 30 years of experience working at startups and Fortune 500 companies. ZEV claims to be the oldest electric motorcycle and scooter manufacturer in the world with continuous production under the same name and factory since its founding in 2006. It has the largest lineup of road-legal electric motorcycles, scooters, trikes and motorbikes.
